A hidden gem for sure! This place is hidden right behind the University on the top of the hill, in a tiny shopping plaza. You can really taste the difference between ice cream and frozen custard, each school is extra creamy. I also feel like the custard adds more tartness to each flavor, making it a bit more bold and the consistency a bit more whipped and fluffy. This was my first time trying custard but I can definitely taste the difference between this and normal ice cream. I'm sad summer is coming to an end, but I will definitely return regardless!

YO, EAST BAY STUDENTS. WATCHA DOIN' NOT FLOCKIN' TO THIS PLACE? I'm surprised about how few students are aware of Rita's! You get a great discount for being an CSUEB student. I believe my total came out to around $4.33 for a large "Gelati" (their most popular item, which is custard at the bottom of the cup, ice, then more custard on top). It was easily shared between two people, and very refreshing during the heat wave! The customer service was fantastic, and the cute blonde who helped us was super informative and friendly. Give this a girl a raiiiissseeeeee! I highly recommend a lemon custard base, mango ice, and then a vanilla custard swirl on top. Friggen' amazing! We have a ton of these types of locations in SoCal, and this Bay area gem does it just right!

Discount for CSUEB students! I'm so happy I found this place! I've heard about frozen custard but never got to try it out but it's amazing!!! The worker was a super sweet girl too. I was asking a lot of questions and she answered me sweetly every time. I got their mango slushy kind and it was amazing. Much more flavorful than i expected. Amazing!

This dessert hits the spot, especially on a really hot day. I usually get the custard and ice, but not blended. When you bite into the ice, it cools your entire insides. I love mixing the custard and ice together, it tastes blended and creamy. But I can also eat each as they are too. They change their flavors daily, but I noticed that Banana custard is there every time I come. No complaint from me because that's usually my go-to custard flavor. Occasionally they have Horchata ice. Yummy! I think they have about 8-10 flavors each day of both ice and custard. Chances are there will be something there you like. I believe the price is worth the quality of the treat. A regular (small) is $3.99 and the large is $4.99. I've been waited on by a few different people and they've all been super friendly and helpful. Check them out.
